There's something about spring that makes you want to open every window, move every piece of furniture, and start completely fresh. We think that feeling is worth listening to.
Spring cleaning gets a bad reputation for being overwhelming a weekend-long chore that nobody actually enjoys. But it doesn't have to be that way. Think of it less as a deep clean and more as a reset. A chance to shake off the heaviness of winter and make space for something lighter.
Here's how we'd approach it, room by room.
Start Before You Clean - The 15 Minute Declutter
Before you reach for anything, do one quick pass through your home with a bag or a box. Anything that doesn't belong, anything you haven't used since last spring, anything that's just taking up space in it goes. You'll be amazed how much lighter a room feels before you've even cleaned a surface.
This one step makes everything else easier.
The Kitchen
The kitchen takes the most of our daily life, which means it also holds onto the most, grease, crumbs, the smell of last Tuesday's dinner.
Your spring kitchen reset:
Empty every cupboard one at a time and wipe down the shelves before restocking
Check your fridge seals, they collect grime quietly and most of us never think to clean them
Degrease the hob properly, not just a surface wipe
Descale your kettle and coffee machine
Wipe down the outside of every appliance including the tops, the spots you never look at
Mop under the fridge and oven if you can move them
Finish by spraying every surface with your PuraOud concentrate, let that scent be the signal that your kitchen is truly clean
The Living Room
This is the room you live in most, which means it silently collects more than you realise.
Your spring living room reset:
Move the sofa and vacuum underneath - yes, actually move it
Dust every surface including the ones above eye level, shelves, picture frames, light fittings
Wash your cushion covers and throws if you haven't recently
Clean your windows from the inside, natural light hits differently when the glass is actually clear
Wipe down skirting boards, they gather dust all year and most of us never notice until spring
Polish any wooden furniture
Freshen the room with a spray of your concentrate on hard surfaces, a clean room should smell as good as it looks
The Bedroom
Your bedroom is where you rest, which means the quality of the air and cleanliness in there matters more than anywhere else.
Your spring bedroom reset:
Wash everything - duvet, pillows, mattress protector, all of it
Flip or rotate your mattress
Vacuum under the bed (don't skip this one)
Clear out your wardrobe if you didn't wear it this winter, you probably won't wear it next winter either
Wipe down all surfaces including bedside tables and lamps
Clean your mirrors properly
Open the windows wide for at least an hour, let the room breathe
A bedroom that smells fresh and feels light is one of the best things you can do for your sleep.
The Bathroom
Small room, big impact.
Your spring bathroom reset:
Descale taps, showerheads, and any chrome fittings
Clean the grout, a small brush and a good spray makes a real difference
Replace anything that needs replacing, your toothbrush, old products sitting at the back of the cabinet, that shower curtain you've been meaning to swap
Wipe down the walls and tiles properly, not just the surfaces
Clean the extractor fan if you have one, they silently clog up over months
Finish with a full spray down of every surface and let that fresh scent linger
The Entryway
The most overlooked room in the house and the first thing anyone sees.
Your spring entryway reset:
Clear out shoes, bags, and anything that's been piling up since November
Wipe down the front door, inside and out
Clean your doormat or replace it if it's seen better days
Dust light fittings and any shelving
Give the floor a proper clean, not just a quick sweep
Your entryway sets the tone for your entire home. It deserves more attention than it gets.
The Finishing Touch
Once every room is done, do one final walk through. Open the windows, let the air move through the house, and finish with a fresh spray of your PuraOud concentrate in each room.
Clean shouldn't just look good. It should smell like something you're proud of.
That's the whole point of what we do.
